Chef Ashwani Mall comes from Northern India and he has spent 15 years working in some of the finest hotel kitchens across India. Ashwani has been working at Le Meridien Jakarta for the last 2 years, and he is now the driving force behind our newly opened restaurant ‘Handi' which specializes in North-West Frontier Cuisine. In his spare time Ashwani loves learning all about Indonesian Culture and local food scene.

Undoubtedly this restaurant serves the best Indian food I have experienced in the last 10 years since I have been residing in Jakarta. Hats off to Chef Ashwani, laal maas and gilli ghost biryani is a must try at Handi resto. One of the best Indian resto so far.

The new Handi has to be the first choice for anyone seeking an Indian meal that celebrates the rich flavours of the north west frontier cuisine of that diverse country. A focused menu, executed with passion and perfection. The highlights of our meal were a melt-in-the-mouth Galoti kebab, a flavourful haleem, a sensational Amrud ki sabzi and decadent shahi tukda. Chef Ashwani Mall and his attentive team have created an intimate space where they interact with genuine warmth with patrons. All in all, a real delight.
